Meet The Author: Kirkus MacGowan

Kirkus MacGowan wrote his first novel at age eight about traveling to Mars to find the cure for cancer. But then he put his writing dreams on hold for twenty-five years and focused his energies on playing baseball. He moved on when he found playing softball with his friends more enjoyable.
Since then, he graduated with a B.S. in Psychology, married a woman too good to be true, and moved back to his hometown. He gave up an amazing career waiting tables and now stays at home with his two crazy children. He spends his time writing thrillers and fantasy and wrestling with his kids.

In MacGowan’s novel, The Fall of Billy Hitchings, fate pushes an average nineteen-year-old teenager, Billy, into a whirlwind of fear and questions. His curiosity gets the best of him, and it may be his undoing. There is talk of an ancient legend and a not so ancient artifact. Will his new friends help him find the answers he seeks? Or will they betray him to their own desires?

Have you ever considered the possibility that by observing the actions of others, your brain responds as if you were performing them yourself?
What if you knew that advances in neuroscience and behavioral psychology were discovering that this process within our brain, along with the non-verbal cues, function as a catalyst that alters outcomes within organizational and social settings?
In this intriguing new book, LiNK: The Fascinating Ways Our Minds Connect, John Serpa presents a fresh look into eighty years of scientific research that gives us the reasons "why" organizations can be transformed with little expense.

How? By harnessing the intriguing ways our minds link. Throughout the book, he shares insights from neuroscience experts and spitfire organizations such as a public boarding school that boasts one of the highest college enrollment levels, a company that achieves 99.9997 percent accuracy without consultants or costly software, a hospital that radically improved the care for premature infants, and how blind children were taught to make movies. The lessons they'll teach will benefit you.

With this knowledge in hand, organizational and personal development can be taken to a whole new level by leveraging the unique communication functions of our mind.
